I am currently working as a CAD Operator at JTC Furniture Group in Dundee. My duties involve producing technical drawings, creating 3D modelled parts and liaising with clients. In my previous role as a Designer at Breo, I was responsible for developing new ranges of watches, sunglasses, packaging and point of sale. I am experienced in bringing products to market from early stage concepts with short deadlines. I also worked on many multimedia projects including filmmaking, exhibition stand design and training manuals.
I graduated with a BSc First Class Honours degree in Product Design from the University of Dundee in 2013. During my degree project I excelled in user-centric design and co-design applying these principles to a portable sharps container for people with diabetes. I worked closely with my younger brother, who is type 1 diabetic, and the inspiration behind the project. One of the key themes of this project was designing for disability and careful consideration was given to the aesthetics of the container with emphasis placed on a non-medical, minimalistic style. This project was selected for display at the Brink exhibition at Tent in London, and I was selected as one of the top ten design graduates of 2013.
